The Welcome and Integration Contract

From 2 January 2024, you will be able to sign up to the Biergerpakt (citizens’ pact), which will replace the CAI (welcome and integration contract) when the law of 23 August 2023 on intercultural living together comes into force on 1 January 2024. However, services provided under a CAI contract that has already been signed will continue after 31 December 2023.

The CAI:

An orientation day

A half-day event—in a friendly atmosphere—allowing you to become familiar with a number of administrative formalities, official bodies, and community life in Luxembourg.

A citizenship training course

6 hours of courses on the history, the traditions and the values as well as the citizenship of Luxembourg, in order to participate more in life in a multilingual and multicultural society. The courses are free of charge.

Language courses at reduced rates

A maximum of 3 discount vouchers for courses in Luxembourgish, French and/or German. You only pay a 10 euro registration fee.

Optional measures

Workshops and information sessions on integration topics.
